ScanPro PDF — Document Scanning

Short version: ScanPro PDF captures and processes documents locally on your device. The Developer operates no user account or App backend and does not receive your scans or PDFs. You control where exported documents are saved or shared and are responsible for protecting sensitive documents.

1. Scope, Acceptance & Apple Standard EULA

ScanPro PDF (the "App") is distributed through Apple’s App Store and is licensed, not sold. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA") is the primary licence agreement for the App. These Supplemental Terms describe App-specific functionality, privacy practices, and responsibilities and supplement, rather than replace, the Apple Standard EULA.

By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using the App, you accept the Apple Standard EULA and, to the extent permitted by law, these Supplemental Terms. Mandatory rights granted by applicable law always prevail over any conflicting provision.

2. Developer & Contact Identity

The App is developed and provided by Sorin Nae ("Developer", "we", or "us"). Public seller and trader information applicable to your territory is also displayed by Apple on the App Store product page.

3. App Functionality & Platform

ScanPro PDF is a document-scanning application for the supported Apple devices shown on its current App Store listing. It uses Apple’s system camera and document-scanning capabilities to capture pages, lets the user review the result, and creates PDF documents that can be saved or shared through destinations selected by the user.

Available tools, output options, device compatibility, and minimum operating-system requirements are those shown in the current App Store listing and installed App. Scan quality depends on lighting, focus, camera hardware, page condition, framing, storage, and user review.

4. Licence & Permitted Use

Subject to the Apple Standard EULA and these Supplemental Terms, the included licence permits personal and professional use of the App. You retain your rights in documents you scan and PDFs you create, subject to rights attached to the source documents.

Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not copy, redistribute, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, bypass protection, extract proprietary assets, or use the App or its components to create a competing product.

5. App Store Distribution, Payments & Refunds

Apple handles App distribution and, where applicable, price, taxes, payment details, purchase entitlements, Family Sharing or other Usage Rules, and refund requests. The Developer does not receive your payment-card details. The current App Store listing states whether a price, in-app purchase, subscription, or trial is offered; these Terms do not create or promise any payment option or trial not shown there. Mandatory refund and consumer rights remain unaffected.

6. App Privacy — Local Document Processing

The Developer operates no account system or backend server for the App. Captured pages, document previews, and generated PDFs are processed locally and are not uploaded to the Developer. The App contains no Developer-operated advertising, behavioural tracking, analytics, or telemetry.

The App uses camera access only after you grant permission and start a scan. You may revoke camera access in device Settings, in which case camera scanning will be unavailable. Documents leave the device only when you deliberately save, synchronise, or share them through a destination or service you choose; those services apply their own privacy and security terms.

7. Local Storage, Exports & Deletion

The App or operating system may temporarily hold captured pages, previews, in-progress PDFs, or caches while a scan is being created. Saved and exported documents remain in the location you choose until you delete them. Removing the App may remove App-local data but does not necessarily delete files already exported to Files, cloud storage, email, messaging, or another destination.

8. Apple Services & Diagnostics

Apple may process App Store transactions, installations, crash reports, and optional diagnostics under the user’s Apple privacy and diagnostics settings. Apple may provide developers with aggregated analytics or diagnostic reports. The App does not add its own tracking to that Apple-controlled process.

9. Support & Website Information

Sorin Nae is the data controller for personal information voluntarily submitted through support channels or the Software Evolution website contact form.

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, message, App version, device details, screenshots, or diagnostic files. We use it only to respond, provide support, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, or establish and defend legal claims. The legal basis is performance of a contract or steps requested by you, our legitimate interest in providing secure support, and legal obligations where applicable.

The website contact form is processed using Formspree, and the website is delivered through Cloudflare. Those providers may process form and technical connection data under their own policies. Do not send confidential documents, identity records, passwords, payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive information through support channels.

Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support and security records, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes, and is then deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

10. Your Data-Protection Rights

Because scanned documents remain on your device or in destinations you choose, the Developer normally has no server-side copy to access or delete. For personal information voluntarily provided through support, applicable law may give you rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and complaint to a supervisory authority. Requests may be sent to [email protected]. Romanian users may also contact the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing.

11. Your Documents, Confidentiality & Required Rights

You retain ownership of documents and other content you capture. Capturing or selecting content authorises the App to process it for the operation you request; it does not transfer ownership to the Developer. You are responsible for having the right to scan, reproduce, store, export, or share each document and for complying with confidentiality, privacy, employment, professional-secrecy, record-retention, and other applicable obligations.

Protect the device and export destination appropriately when documents contain identity, financial, medical, legal, employment, or other sensitive information.

12. Scan Quality, Legal Effect & Backups

The App does not certify a scan’s accuracy, completeness, authenticity, evidential value, legal admissibility, archival quality, or conformity with any filing or record-keeping rule. Review every page for focus, cropping, orientation, colour, missing content, and correct page order before deleting the original or submitting the PDF.

Keep original documents and independent backups whenever required. For certified copies, regulated records, official filings, or evidential use, follow the receiving authority’s rules and use qualified services where necessary.

13. Intellectual Property & Trademarks

The App, source code, interface, documentation, and proprietary assets are protected by intellectual-property law and are owned by or licensed to the Developer, except for clearly identified third-party components and rights. Apple and other third-party names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners and are used only for identification. No affiliation or endorsement is implied.

14. Warranties & Mandatory Consumer Rights

The Apple Standard EULA contains the warranty terms applicable to the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", and the Developer does not promise error-free operation, perfect scan quality, legal acceptance, or compatibility with every device, document, destination, or future system.

Nothing in these Supplemental Terms excludes, restricts, or replaces rights that cannot legally be waived. Consumers retain all mandatory rights and remedies provided by Romanian, European Union, and other applicable law.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or any injury, damage, remedy, or responsibility that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

Subject to that rule and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, rejection of a scan by a third party, third-party service failure, or avoidable loss or disclosure where reasonable review, security, and backup measures were not maintained. Nothing here reduces a protection provided by the Apple Standard EULA or mandatory consumer law.

16. Updates, Availability & Termination

Features, output options, minimum system versions, and interface details may change as the App evolves. Required updates will be provided as required by applicable law. Your licence may terminate if you materially breach the Apple Standard EULA or these Supplemental Terms, subject to applicable law. Termination does not transfer ownership of your documents or PDFs to the Developer.

17. Changes, Governing Law & Disputes

We may update these Terms to reflect functionality, legal requirements, security needs, or business changes. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means and will not retroactively remove a purchased entitlement or mandatory consumer right. Where consent is legally required, a change takes effect only after valid consent.

These Supplemental Terms are governed by Romanian law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or courts available under the law of their country of habitual residence. Please contact us first so we can attempt to resolve a concern.
