Privacy Policy
Duplicate Clean respects your privacy. This application does not collect, store, or share any personal data from its users. The app operates entirely on the user's device and does not transmit any data externally.
Complete Privacy & Local Processing:
• All file scanning and duplicate detection happens locally on your Mac
• No files are uploaded to any server
• No personal data is collected or transmitted
• No analytics, tracking, or telemetry
• Your music library stays completely private
File Access
Duplicate Clean requires access to your music files only to:
- Scan and analyze audio files for duplicates
- Read file metadata (duration, size, format)
- Play audio files for verification
- Delete or move files when you explicitly request it
The app only accesses files and folders you explicitly select. No background scanning or unauthorized file access occurs.
Data Processing
All data processing is performed locally on your device:
- File paths and metadata are stored temporarily in memory during scanning
- Theme preferences are saved locally using macOS UserDefaults
- No data persists after you close the application
- No internet connection is required or used
File Deletion Warning: Duplicate Clean permanently moves files to Trash when you use the delete functions. Always verify files before deletion. The developer is not responsible for accidental data loss.

Use of Apple Technologies
Duplicate Clean utilizes technologies and frameworks provided by Apple, including but not limited to:

Proprietary License
Duplicate Clean is distributed under a proprietary license with the following terms:
- No Reproduction: No part of this software, including its codebase, algorithms, design, and associated assets, may be reproduced, distributed, or transmitted without prior written permission from the developer.
- No Modification: Reverse engineering, decompilation, disassembly, or modification of the software is strictly prohibited.
- Exclusive Distribution: The software is available exclusively through authorized channels (App Store). Unauthorized replication or redistribution is illegal and will result in legal action.
- Algorithm Protection: The duplicate detection algorithms and optimization techniques used in this software are proprietary and protected intellectual property.

By purchasing, downloading, and using Duplicate Clean, you agree to the following terms:
Grant of License
- You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use this software for personal or business purposes on devices you own or control.
- The license is tied to your Apple ID and the devices associated with it.
- You may install the software on multiple devices linked to your Apple ID, as permitted by the App Store terms.
Restrictions
- You may not distribute, sell, lease, rent, lend, or sublicense the software.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code.
- You may not remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the software.
- You may not use the software for any illegal purposes or in violation of any laws.
User Responsibilities
- Backup Your Data: Always maintain backups of important files before using delete or move functions.
- Verify Before Deletion: Use the built-in audio player to verify files before deleting them.
- System Compatibility: Ensure your Mac meets the minimum system requirements.
- Safe Usage: Do not use the software on system files or critical directories.
Limitation of Liability
Duplicate Clean is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
The developer shall not be liable for:
- Any data loss, including accidental deletion of files
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Business interruption or system downtime
- Any damages arising from the use or inability to use the software
This limitation applies even if the developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Maximum Liability: In no event shall the developer's total liability exceed the amount you paid for the software license.
No Warranty
This software is provided without any warranties, including but not limited to:

- Accuracy or completeness of duplicate detection
- Error-free operation across all systems and configurations
The developer does not guarantee that:
- The software will meet all your requirements
- The software will be uninterrupted or error-free
- All duplicates will be detected with 100% accuracy
- The software will be compatible with all hardware and software configurations
Updates and Support
The developer may provide updates, bug fixes, and improvements at its discretion. Updates may:

- Fix bugs or improve performance
- Modify or remove existing features
- Require acceptance of updated terms
Updates are provided "as is" without warranty. Continued use of the software after an update constitutes acceptance of any changes to these terms.
Termination
This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any term. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the software and delete all copies.
Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Romania and the European Union. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved in the courts of Romania.
Consumer Rights
These terms do not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under applicable law, including EU consumer protection laws. In case of conflict, consumer protection laws shall prevail.
Changes to Terms
The developer reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the software after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
